Aprenticeships Program: University of Buenos Aires
Aprenticeships. |
|
Bureau
de Comunicaciones and the University of Buenos Aires signed an agreement through which
Certified Translation advanced students have the opportunity of getting to know the
translation industry from the inside, by serving an apprenticeship at a translation
bureau.
María Cecilia Gómez, 4th year student at the University of Buenos Aires enjoys the
privilege of gathering experience while dealing with translations, building glossaries and
other translation-related tasks. Cecilia says: I am deeply honored to be an
apprentice at Bureau de Comunicaciones. I really appreciate this opportunity and I am
learning a lot about the responsibility and skills that Bureau de Comunicaciones applies
to daily tasks. I am fully aware that I am in a privileged position and that few Certified
Translation students have had this opportunity. This is why I will try to acquire the
maximum profit from everything I could learn here. I believe this apprenticeship is the
very beginning of a long way to go, and thanks to Bureau de Comunicaciones I have the
possibility to get to know the amazing world of translations. Being able to put into
practice the theory you study everyday at College is extremely useful, considering that in
certain cases what you learn in class is really miles away from the reality of
translations.
EXTERNAL APRENTICESHIPS
Bearing recently graduated and soon-to-be translators and interpreters needs in
mind, Bureau de Comunicaciones is implementing a new apprenticeship program through which
both parties benefit from mutual learning and ongoing updating. Trainees acquire knowledge
and experience that will become useful to them during their working lives. |
